Daphne – vintage Dartmouth Pottery urn style footed vase with shell handles, 18cm

£48.00

Daphne is a classically shaped urn-style footed vase with twin scallop shell handles. Its pedestal base and trumpet-shaped body with fluted banding make it a versatile piece, equally striking as a standalone display or filled with fresh, dried or faux blooms.

THE STORY
Made by Dartmouth Pottery, based in the south Devon town of Dartmouth and established in 1947, Daphne reflects the company’s tradition of decorative flower vessels. Between 1954 and 1960 more than 200 moulded shapes were produced, many designed specifically for flower arranging, of which this piece is a fine example.

CONDITION
This vase has the typical glaze crackles and imperfections expected of a piece of this age, with no major issues to note.
